Diverse Pyrenees Habitat Bird Watchers B&B
Welcome to my Pyrenees Bird Watching site.
I have lived and run a holiday
business in the Ariege Pyrenees for nearly 5 years. A keen bird
watcher since a small boy, I have been enchanted and amazed by the diversity
and number of wonderful birds that can be observed in this beautiful part of
France, at all times of the year.
This site is not full of photographs (as I am not equipped as a wildlife photographer!) or indeed technical information, but is designed to encourage you to share in my knowledge and joy of observing Pyrenees birds and wildlife.
Please see my new B&B which is ideally situated in the Leze Valley on the route to the Pyrenees. Read about the amazingly diverse habitats found in the Ariege.
If you want a taste of what you can see here, these are the summer visitors I have seen in our local area:
Bee-eaters
Hoopoe
Egyptian Vulture
Rollers (Aug 2007/2008/2009)
Golden Eagle
In the Orlu Vallee Reserve:
Bearded Vulture
Marmots
Izzards
I am happy to advise on where are the best places to observe, season by season, or to guide you on specific bird watching trips, days out.
